About Final Boss Games.

A small, free arcade of daily puzzles and browser games, plus a feed to wander through afterwards. No app, no sign-up, and nothing here is a paid placement.

What this is

Final Boss Games is a calm corner of the internet built around one simple idea: a handful of good puzzles every morning, free, that you can finish in a few minutes and then get on with your day. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing needs installing, and nothing needs an account.

It is a sister site to Final Boss Editing, the writing and editing half of the same small operation, and the two share a look — parchment, ink, and a crimson accent.

What you'll find here

New puzzles land every morning, and there is a growing pile of things to poke at between them.

• The daily puzzles — a mini crossword built on art and literature, a chess mate, the Wise Word Finder, an anagram ladder, a cipher, an art match, a history quiz, a riddle, a poem, a haiku, and Morning Mystery logic grids.
• Large-print editions — a word search and a crossword set in big, clear type.
• A printable pack — the day's puzzles on paper, for people who would rather hold a pencil.
• The arcade — longer games like Chess Puzzle Blitz, Hexa Puzzle Saga, Crystal Chaos, Leaverite Rocks and 3072, plus early experiments that are still being figured out.
• Party games — games for a room of people with phones, like Boss's Bluff, Boss Draw and Marble Rush.
• The feed — the front page. Puzzles, writing, recipes, stories and things made by other people that seemed worth passing along.
• Odds and ends — a recipe box, a reading shelf, short fiction, and an archive of everything published so far.

Who makes it

This is a one-person project. Jeff builds the games, writes the puzzles and keeps the lights on.

Some of what appears in the feed was made by other people — videos and posts that stay on the platform they were published to, and public-domain quotes, poems and artwork. Where each part comes from, and how to have yours removed, is set out on the sources and credits page.

How it stays free

Everything here is free. This site sells no advertising and takes no money for placing anything in the feed — nothing here is a paid placement. (A video embedded from somewhere else may still show that platform's own ads; that money goes to the creator and the platform, not here.) It runs on tips and on Patreon, and on being small enough for one person to keep going. If you'd like to help, the support page is the place — but a nice email counts too.

Made for a mixed room

Anything that arrives here from elsewhere is filtered to keep it broadly suitable — the feed is meant to be safe to scroll with someone looking over your shoulder. It is not a children's service, and there is no separate children's version, but it is built so that a grandparent and a grandchild can both find something to do.
