📖 The answer, explained

The trick here is that both halves lean on words we normally attach to human hands — fetching and stealing — and then quietly remove the hands. We expect something fetched to require a fetcher, something lost to require a thief, so the mind goes hunting for a person or a mechanism. But the stars just arrive as the sky darkens, with no delivery involved, and they vanish come morning simply because daylight overpowers them, not because anyone snatched them away. The misdirection makes you picture an actor performing an action, when really it's just light and darkness doing what they always do. Once you let go of the idea that someone must be responsible, the answer opens up: the stars were never taken, only outshined, and never brought, only revealed.
