📖 Notes & analysis

Pick a book that ended so well you almost resented it, then imagine the quiet years after the last page. Maybe it's mischief: the plucky orphan from your favorite adventure novel is grown now, running the very institution that once failed her, and she's about to bend every rule for a kid who reminds her of herself. Maybe it's melancholy: two characters who found each other in the final chapter, years later, discovering love doesn't erase the hard parts of two separate lives. Or go sideways entirely — follow a minor character nobody else would think to continue, the innkeeper, the sidekick's sister, the dog, and let their small, overlooked life become the whole story. The fun is in borrowing someone else's world and paying rent by taking it somewhere they never planned.
