Daily Writing Prompt — Aug 13, 2026
Write a prayer.
Your move, writer.
Write a prayer.
Your move, writer.
A prayer doesn't have to kneel in a chapel — it can happen anywhere, addressed to anyone or no one in particular. You might write one the old way: quiet, reverent, asking for courage before something hard, the kind of words whispered in a car before walking into a hospital or a job interview. Or take it sideways — a child's bedtime prayer that says more about their day than their faith, full of small, specific gratitude for a dog or a good sandwich. There's room for humor too: a prayer for patience with a slow printer, or for a parking spot, sincere despite itself. And you could write one that isn't religious at all — a toast, a wish sent into the dark, a promise spoken like a vow. Whoever it's for, let it sound like it means it.
