📖 Notes & analysis

Try it as a heist: Red isn't visiting Grandma at all, she's casing the cottage, and the wolf is the neighborhood watch who's been onto her scheme for weeks, leaving polite warnings shaped like paw prints on the windowsill. Or slow it down into a fable about reputation, where the wolf just wants to grow turnips in peace and Red keeps trampling his garden and blaming him to the woodsman, forcing him to finally, gently, tell his side of the story. There's also a cozy comedy version — Grandma and the wolf are old friends who play cards on Thursdays, and the real plot is the two of them scheming to keep the last slice of pie away from Red, who will absolutely lie about the basket to get it.
