📖 Notes & analysis

One way in: the taxi is shared by accident, both of you reaching for the same door handle in the rain, and Valentine's Day becomes the setting for an argument that slowly softens into something else entirely — old grudges are easiest to drop when you're stuck in traffic with nowhere to go. Or play it drier: the enemy is your business rival, the taxi is racing to the same restaurant to sabotage the same reservation, and the comedy writes itself if you let the meter keep running past reason. There's also a quieter road — the cab driver recognizes you both from years ago, from a story you'd rather forget, and Valentine's Day becomes the backdrop for finally saying the apology that's been sitting in your coat pocket since high school.
