Tell bad drivers, rude customers, and evil dictators how grateful you are for what they’ve done. Do it with a wink and a smile.
Your move, writer.

One way in is pure deadpan gratitude — thank the driver who cut you off for reminding you your brakes still work, thank the rude customer for the free acting class in keeping your face pleasant while your soul screams. Keep it light, sitcom-timing, the joke landing in the specificity.
Another direction leans mock-ceremonial, like a tiny awards speech or a fake plaque: "Evil Dictator of the Month, for services to irony and bad posture in history textbooks." The absurdity does the work, and the wink comes from treating the ridiculous with total formality.
Or go gentle and a little wise underneath the humor — gratitude as a coping trick, where thanking chaos for teaching patience becomes oddly sincere by the end, so the smile stays but something true sneaks in behind it.
