One direction: a kid's-eye comedy, the loose tooth wiggled out at the worst moment, lipstick stolen from mom's drawer to play dress-up, the horoscope read aloud from a cereal box like gospel, because today was supposed to be lucky and the tooth falling out is proof.

Another: something quieter, a grown woman getting ready for a first date after years alone, penciling on courage, checking her stars for permission to hope, and the gap in her smile from an old accident she's finally stopped hiding behind her hand.

Or lean into mystery, a traveling fortune-teller whose makeup cracks under stage lights, whose predictions always come eerily true, and whose missing tooth she shows only to the ones she trusts — like a secret, like a key, like proof she was telling the truth the whole time.
