Be a building you know well. Talk about your life and memories.
Your move, writer.
Be a building you know well. Talk about your life and memories.
Your move, writer.
Think about which building you'd become, and let that choice set the tone. You might be the old family house, holding warmth in your floorboards, remembering birthday candles and the particular creak of a screen door that meant someone was home for dinner. Or go quieter and sadder: an empty school building waiting for renovation, missing the noise of children, proud of every scuffed hallway tile that once meant something. There's room for humor too, a corner diner bragging about the regulars who complain about the same booth every single Tuesday, wearing its grease stains like medals. Try starting mid-memory, as if you've been talking a while already, and let small details, a loose doorknob, a crack in the ceiling, carry the real feeling instead of stating it outright.
